Garden & planting

Beds that look deliberate rather than inherited. From $180 per bed.

Planting for the spot, not the label

Most struggling gardens are not badly tended, they are badly matched. A plant that wants full sun will sulk for years in the shade of a maple no matter how well you feed it.

So we start with what the spot actually is: how much sun it gets, how the water moves through it, and what the soil is really like once you dig past the top few inches. Then we plant accordingly.

  • Beds dug over, weeded and improved before anything goes in
  • Plants chosen for sun, soil and how big they actually get
  • Mulched properly, kept off the stems
  • Seasonal pruning for shrubs and small trees
  • A written note of what we planted and how to look after it
